Television host and comedian Willie Revillame reportedly has the potential to become country's president someday.
President Duterte made this observation about Revillame after heaping praises on the television host in a recent video message, according to his Spokesman Harry Roque.
Duterte earlier tried to persuade Revillame to run for senator in the 2022 elections, saying a slot in his senatorial slate will stay "open until the last minute" for the "Wowowin" program host.
"I have a copy of the video greeting of the President. Ang sabi nga po niya tumakbo ka ng (senador) pero sa bandang huli rin sabi rin po niya na pupuwedeng magpresidente si Willie Revillame (The President said he should run for senator but in the end, he said Willie Revillame can be president)," Roque said during a televised press briefing Monday, June 14.
"It’s a video greeting of sorts ‘no so hindi po iyon (That's not a) new meeting between Willie Revillame and the President," he said.

In a video message released by GMA-7 Sunday, the President said he wanted Revillame to join the senatorial race as he praised his appeal to the masses. When he learned Revillame was having second thoughts in running for public office, Duterte promised to reserve a slot for him.
"Open ang slot until the last minute. Kung ayaw mo na talaga, eh di puwede tayong mag-usap uli (The slot is open until the last minute. If you don’t want to run, we can talk again)," he told Revillame.
