Marjorie Barretto confirms kids still carry surname of ex-husband Dennis Padilla

Actress Marjorie Barretto has pointed out that her children are still carrying the surname of her former husband, actor-politician Dennis Padilla.

This was revealed by actor-talent manager Ogie Diaz during an interview with Marjorie recently.

Ogie reiterated that Julia is still carrying her real name Julia Francesca Barretto Baldivia on her contracts, although there was really a plan to change the surname in the past.

He also said that it wasn't Julia who first filed the petition to change the surname, but her sister Claudia.

Ogie quoted Marjorie as saying Julia was the "kindest" to Dennis among their kids.

Aside from Julia and Claudia, they also have a brother, named Leon.

Ogie said that the plan to change the surname did not happen because some people interfered.

Both parents are aware of what happened, Ogie added.

Marjorie also gave an explanation why her children wanted to change their surname, he said.

But Ogie said that he would still ask the permission of Marjorie if he could upload the interview.

Ogie said that he suggested to Marjorie to discuss things with Dennis, which she agreed.

It was seven years ago when news about Julia's plan to change her surname surfaced.

Through their lawyer, Marjorie's camp cited the annulment of her marriage to Dennis in 2009 as one of the reasons why Julia petitioned to drop her father's surname.

The lawyers also noted the previous marriage of Dennis in 1994, three years before the comedian and Marjorie tied the knot on Nov. 14, 1997. To which made the court declared their nuptial as null and void on the ground that it was bigamous.

Recently, Dennis and Julia talked about the issue through a vlog and settled it.

There, Dennis acknowledged his shortcomings on failed romance.

Later Marjorie admitted that she’s “happy” seeing her children and former husband reconnect.

However, the video is still not available online.

Many believe it has something to do with the story of Dennis where he confronted Gerald Anderson after Julia was tagged as the third party in the controversial breakup with Bea Alonzo.

Ogie has removed the emotional vlog upon the request of Dennis.
