The Department of Education (DEpEd) has hailed the creativity, ingenuity, and resourcefulness of 14 elementary students in Negros Occidental for making their own version of Philippine flag out of surgical mask, plastic straw, and recycled materials.
In a series of Facebook posts, DepEd shared the Philippine flag artworks of the students from Silay South Elementary School in Western Visayas.
The students have demonstrated creativity in making the flag using surgical masks, plastic straws, fingerprints, softdrinks caps, flowers, recycled materials, as well as cake design),” the DepEd’ s post read.
The department said the art activity was initiated under the supervision of the students’ adviser, John Ronald Escaro.
