Up on the top floor’s open area at SM Aura, there’s more to discover and enjoy than the Paw Park, a dog agility obstacle course that’s been such a joy for pet owners and their canine buddies. There’s the SkyPark dining area, and what it’s evolved to be is the ultimate alfresco dining option at Bonifacio Global City.
What more could one ask for, either in cute, ingenious pods, or at tables set under big umbrellas, one has a chance to enjoy great food and drinks; while enjoying the brisk evening breeze. It’s a perfect formula for enjoyable dining under the most accommodating health and safety protocols. And with quarantine fatigue troubling most everyone these days, it’s an option that’s hard to beat.
What one has is the option to order, mix, and choose from a diverse collection of restaurants and eateries. Participating at SkyPark dining are Barcino, Est by Grand Castella, Healthy Shabu-Shabu, Hummus Elijah, Jin Joo, Lugang Cafe, Melon Pan, Mesa, Niu by Vikings, Ogetsu Hime, Prego Trattoria, Rackshack, Ramen Nagi, Rockstar, Tamarind, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Tiger Sugar, Tuan Tuan, and Yabu.
If you can’t find something from that list, you’re badly in need of an education in food choices. On the night we dined at the SkyPark, we had the Hummus & Falafel Balls of Hummus Elijah, the Pork Snow Buns and Orange Chicken of Tuan Tuan, Croquetas and baby Calamares from Barcino, pasta from Prego, and Melonpan Ice for dessert.
If there’s a new favorite at Aura I didn’t see in the list, that would be the Mexican cuisine of Cochi Loco Manila. Located on the 4th floor, I’d recommend their Birria Queso Tacos and the Flamin’ Loco Chipotle Grilled Chicken Quesadillas. If it’s a Mex-ed bag of genuine, delicious dishes you’re after, this is the pit stop. Plus you’re served by the owner who’s in mask!
But back to the SkyPark. The fact that the rainy season is on us shouldn’t deter you. As long as the rain has let up by the evening, as it did on the night we dropped by, there truly was a coolness in the air that we enjoyed. Already, I was imaging just how pleasant a place this would be come November, December, and January.
The SkyPark dining area is a wonderful idea—it’s romantic, and it’s the perfect antidote to stuffy restaurants or being trapped in an eatery relying purely on the AC. It’s the place where variety of food choices is a guarantee, and you really feel safe while dining.
