A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed Friday, June 11, by Minglanilla Mayor Elanito Pena and PRA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Janilo Rubiato.
The signing of the MOA was witnessed by Jose Soberano III, CEO of Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI), the developer of the Minglanilla Techno-Business Park or the Ming-Mori reclamation project in Barangay Calajo-an.
Soberano said once the PRA issues the Notice to Proceed, the CLI is targeting to finish the project within three years.
Rubiato said the PRA will be awaiting the submission of pertinent documents, including the detailed engineering design of the project. “The project will be evaluated before it will be given the notice to proceed,”said Rubiato.
The project has been issued an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu also graced the signing of the MOA.
The CLI assured that it will comply the requisites needed for the reclamation project. “The project will take CLI to a brand-new level and widen the range of our customer base to include light-industrial and technology-driven companies,” said Soberano.
Pena said the project will not only boost the town’s revenue but will also provide employment opportunities.
Once completed, the project will have port facilities, commercial and residential spaces, as well as institutional zones.
