The “monsoon trough” is forecast to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over some provinces in Luzon, the state weather bureau said Thursday, June 10.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the monsoon trough will prevail across the country.
Based on the 4 p.m. weather update, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may affect Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Zambales, and Bataan due to the monsoon trough.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Moreover, the monsoon trough will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, PAGASA is currently monitoring a low pressure area outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
Weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the weather disturbance was located 625 kilometers west of Dagupan City as of 3 p.m.
The LPA is projected to further move away from the country towards Southern China and Northern Vietnam.
