DLSU to vaccinate students

The De La Salle University (DLSU) has opened its coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination program to all its students.

The vaccination plan includes DLSU students in senior high school, undergraduate, graduate, and College of Law.

Citing a survey that was conducted last March, DLSU Chancellor Bernard S. Oca bared that "a good number of students are willing to be vaccinated" through the university.

"In our collective effort to address the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic as one Lasallian community, De La Salle University is firming up the vaccination plans for our students in senior high school, undergraduate, graduate, and College of Law students," Oca said.

"We enjoin everyone to remain vigilant and support our government's efforts to curb the spread of the virus. We also continue to remind the Lasallian family to stay healthy, avoid crowded places, and practice proper hygiene, sanitation, and safe distancing," he added.

Students are encouraged to pre-register to ensure a vaccine slot from the university.

Oca said vaccine doses procured by DLSU are expected to arrive by the third quarter of 2021.

In May, the Ateneo de Manila University announced its plan to vaccinate its employees and students against the virus through its university vaccination program

Ateneo has ordered 10,000 doses of Novavax vaccines and 8,000 doses of Moderna vaccines that are expected to be delivered in July.
