Manny Pacquiao produces film about Asian hate crimes

Legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao shows his support in the fight against Asian hate crimes through the film “Zeus.”

In his Instagram post, Pacquiao proudly announced that he is the executive producer of the said film set to be released in digital platforms on Aug. 13.

“I believe this film will impact many lives!” Pacquiao wrote on Instagram, accompanied by the movie’s trailer.

“To my AAPI community, let’s make a difference together! #StopAsianHate”

The film, which was written, directed and starred by Filipino Chris Soriano, tackles about an Asian-American boxer who faces hate crimes in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Other stars in the film were Peter Laboy, Miguel Matos, and Rhandy Torres, among others.

Asian hate crimes remain prevalent in the United States since pandemic started, ranging from being spat or coughed on to being battered or even killed.
