In the fight against illegal drugs and corruption, President Duterte will do everything he could even he has to mortage his soul to the devil.

The President, whose campaign promise includes eradicating corruption, touted what they’ve done five years into his term during his interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy aired Tuesday night.

Duterte mentioned the dismissal of 70 corrupt Customs personnel, including the relief of 43 immigration officers over the so-called “pastillas” bribery scheme.

“Talagang inano ko sila. Kung ayaw maniwala ng tao na ginawa namin bahala kayo. Basta kami hindi man kami kailangan magyabang sa trabaho namin. Basta ako sa corruption talagang yayariin kita (I’ve really done it to them. If the people don’t want to believe what we’ve done, it’s up to them. We don’t have to boast our work. As long as there is corruption I will catch you),” he said.

During his run for presidency in 2016, Duterte promised to stop corruption in government, but he later realized it was indeed a difficult task.

The Chief Executive admitted that eradicating corruption could not be done in six months like he thought so.

“I said I can solve the problem in six months, little did I know I’m fighting my own government,” Duterte said.

The tough-talking President went on if he had to mortgage himself to the devil to fight drug traffickers and corrupt officials, he will do it.

Duterte even asked his friend Quiboloy to redeem his soul from the devil and pay for the mortgage.

“I hope, Pastor, that you will redeem the mortgage. Bayaran mo na lang para ganoon na lang eh ipagbili mo ‘yong --- isangla mo ‘yong kaluluwa (Just pay for it. It’s like you mortgage your soul),” he said.

“And then that’s the reason why I am very honest with you na sana naman tubusin mo na lang ako doon sa impiyerno (I hope you just redeem me from hell),” Duterte added.
