PNP Aviation Group officer killed in Tarlac ambush

TARLAC – A member of the Philippine National Police Aviation Group was shot dead by unidentified gunmen Tuesday, June 8 in Capas, Tarlac.

The victim was identified as PSsg Michael Maun who was driving his Toyota Altis along Cristo Rey in Capas when the gunmen onboard a black Altis overtook and shot at Maun’s vehicle.

Maun was later on rushed to Ng Capas Hospital but was declared dead on arrival due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Police Regional Office 3 Regional Director PBGen. Valeriano T De Leon has ordered a thorough investigation on the crime that was captured by a nearby CCTV camera which showed two gunmen alighting from the getaway vehicle and fired at will at Maun’s car.

"We will exert all our efforts and look into the bottom of this.We continue to solicit the support of the general public in order to maintain peace and order, safety and security of our communities,” De Leon said
