The DOT partnered with Jollibee during the launching of the "Eats More Fun in the Philippines" campaign in 2019 as part of efforts to further boost the country's budding food tourism industry.

Jollibee is currently investigating the viral "fried towel" incident following the complaint of a customer who was given the supposed chicken meal by the fast food chain's Bonifacio-Stop Over branch in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.

The particular branch was shut down for three days beginning June 3 pending the probe.

“We are deeply concerned about this matter and have conducted a thorough investigation on the incident,” the company said in a recent statement.

Jollibee added that it is committed to "take the necessary steps to maintain the trust and loyalty" of its customers.
