DOH says more than 5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered as of June 6


More than five million doses of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines have already been administered in the country as of June 6, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday.

Data released by the DOH showed

that a total of 5,965,651 doses have so far been administered.

Of this, 4,421,319 were first doses, and 1,544,332 were second doses.

"This equates to over 1 million people that have been given the full protection of the COVID-19 vaccines," the DOH said in the vaccination rollout update.

Those who received their first doses were workers in frontline health services totaling 1,398,710; senior citizens 1,537,365; individuals with comorbidity 1,472,985; and frontline personnel in essential sector 12,259.

As for the number of those who completed their second doses 827,089 workers in frontline health services; 369,387 senior citizens; 343,297 individuals with comorbidity and 4,559 frontline personnel in essential sector.

The DOH said the total doses administered in the 14th week of the national vaccination reached 788,350 doses.

The government urged eligible populations belonging to priority groups A1 to A3 to register, get vaccinated and complete the required number of doses as scheduled.

The vaccinated population were also urged to continue practicing the minimum public health standards as you may still get infected with COVID-19 and infect other people.
