The number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country rose to 1,276,004 on Monday, June, after the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 6,539 new cases.

The DOH also reported 6,969 new recoveries and 71 new deaths.

This brought the total recoveries to 1,195,181 and total deaths to 21,969.

The Health department said 13 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 10 of these were recoveries.

“Moreover, 21 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it said.

Of the 58,854 active cases, 93.4 percent were mild, 2.4 percent were asymptomatic, 1.3 percent were critical, 1.7 percent were severe and 1.16 percent were moderate.

The DOH said all labs were operational on June 5, while seven labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

“Based on data in the last 14 days, the seven non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 3.1 percent of samples tested and 5.4 percent of positive individuals,” it said.
