In Rome, Italy, the Holy Father Pope Francis traditionally leads a public procession of the Blessed Sacrament from the St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City to the streets of Rome. Before the pandemic, bishops from across the world traditionally join the Holy Father during the hour-long Eucharistic adoration.

In the country, church rites in commemoration of Corpus Christi will be held at the Santa Cruz Parish (Archdiocesan Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament) in Manila that includes a holy mass and the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Church attendance will be limited to 50 percent of the church’s capacity to observe physical distancing.

Archdiocese of Manila Apostolic Administrator Bishop Broderick Pabillo has called on the faithful to attend the Eucharistic celebration today to receive holy communion as he cited a recent Veritas survey that showed 97 percent of Catholics believe that the Holy Eucharist is the actual Body and Blood of Christ.
