A disagreement between couple Aljimar Jaradon Aksan and Rohelyn A. Alamat erupted into a clan war which drew in family members from both camps.
Last Tuesday, the Philippine Army (PA) 100th Infantry Battalion (IB) initiated a settlement to end the conflict between the two feuding families. Spouses Aljimar and Rohelyn agreed to the settlement to finally end their dispute.
The settlement was facilitated by members of the PA, the Philippine National Police (PNP), Indanan municipal officials, and local elders.
Family members signed an agreement signifying their intent to stop the quarrel among them. Sources failed to say what started the quarrel between the warring spouses.
The rido settlement is a part of a People’s Peace Covenant which aims to end local armed conflict in Sulu.
“Maganda po itong nangyari. Isa po itong blessing sa lahat,” said Lt. Col. Michael R. Cuenca, 100th IB commanding officer.
