Two men shot dead inside car in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – Two persons were gunned down by unidentified perpetrators inside their car at Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) port in Barangay 2 here on Tuesday.

Killed were Dexter Bryan Ursos, 41, of Barangay 4; and Fernando Mahipos, 39, of Barangay 14.

According to Police Capt. Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, the victims were found dead inside a silver Mitsubishi Mirage, which was a company car driven by Ursos, who was a real estate broker.

Aside from the two victims, a two-year-old child, whose identity was withheld for security reasons, was found unharmed beside the car, Pendon said.

Police recovered from the vehicle a sachet of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, P4,000 counterfeit money, and other personal belongings of the victims.

Also recovered from the crime scene were eight empty fired cartridge cases, a deformed slug of a suspected .45 caliber and .9mm caliber, and a metal fragment.

Pendon said they have no lead yet on the identities of perpetrators and the motive of the incident, adding that they didn’t have any witness as of now.

He also said that they have no idea yet why these victims were at the secluded area while it was raining so hard.

Despite some contrabands were found in the vehicle, Pendon said they could not yet tell if it had link to illegal drugs.

“We’re still working on it and trying to check their background,” Pendon said.

Pendon said that the child is already in the custody of the authorities.
