The annual Next@Acer Global Press Conference has introduced technologies to consumers that no one can ever imagine. This 2021, the Taiwanese tech giant has outdone itself by joining the RE100 initiative and pledging to achieve 100% renewable energy by the year 2035. In addition, Acer declared its mission to help tackle environmental challenges with its “Earthion” platform that unites the strengths of its employees and supply chain partners, and expands the circle of impact of its sustainability efforts.

Acer Chairman and CEO Jason Chen

“In 2020, more than 60 environment and education projects were initiated by our employees in over 40 countries. This year, we aim to achieve more. In education, we want to help bridge the digital divide and cultivate talent around the world. For the environmental, we wish to help create a greener tomorrow through innovative solutions,” Acer Chairman and CEO Jason Chen said. “We also introduced Acer Earthion. It is our mission to tackle our generation’s environmental challenges through innovation and introduce solution. It is a collaboration across supply chain, function, and multiple generations.”

These green initiatives by Acer were exemplified by the Aspire Vero notebook, its first sustainability-focused product under the Earthion platform. It is a step towards reimagining what the computer manufacturing process looks like. Post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic is used throughout the device’s chassis and keyboard caps. Eco-friendly packaging takes this a step further: the Aspire Vero ships in a box made from 80-85% recycled paper pulp, and plastic bagging for adapter protection is reduced by using paper sleeves instead. Furthermore, the laptop bag and the sheet between the keyboard and screen is made with 100% industrial recycled plastic.

Acer also announced four new Chromebook lines in a wide array of shapes and designs, including the industry’s first 17-inch Chromebook, the Acer Chromebook 317. They all come with the latest in-demand technology and features to meet the needs of consumers, students, and business users.

The latest addition to its TravelMate P6 series was also introduced—a line of Windows 10 Pro notebooks engineered for professionals who frequently work on the road. Durable, secure and powerful with a long battery life, these notebooks are built to survive life on the go—and now include a convertible option with a Corning Gorilla® Glass® touch display that can be rotated 360 degrees for use in presentation, tablet, notebook and tent modes.

Meanwhile, a response to the ever-growing demand for gaming globally, Acer welcomed the all-new Predator Triton 500 SE and the Predator Helios 500 notebooks have been updated to include up to the new 11th Gen Intel Core i9 processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs, plus a hoard of premium features like Acer’s 5th Generation AeroBlade 3D Fan Technology for better cooling, DTS:X Ultra audio, Intel Killer E3100G Ethernet Controller, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i, and the PredatorSense device management software.

On top of that, the line of Predator gaming monitors will be expanded with three new VESA DisplayHDR-Certified models: the Predator CG437K S, Predator X38 S and Predator X28. The new monitors target different niches by offering something that will excite a wide variety of gamers, whether weekend warrior or seasoned professional.

An exciting treat awaits creators around the globe as the ConceptD creator notebooks are getting an update with the latest 11th Gen Intel Core H-series processors and a range of GPU options, including the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs and the latest NVIDIA RTX Professional Laptop GPUs powered by the NVIDIA Ampere architecture. They’re backed by the NVIDIA Studio ecosystem, as well as exclusive driver technology that enhances creative apps for optimal levels of performance and reliability.

ConceptD 3 Ezel Pro

The new ConceptD 5 notebooks also include a 16:10 16-inch display, providing enough space for content creators to view their videos and edit tracks without having to resize taskbars or hide preview windows.

In relation to the ConceptD refresh, Acer also announced announced SpatialLabs a suite of experiences empowered by cutting-edge optical solutions plus display and sensory technologies that bring the virtual world to a more physical dimension, delivering stereoscopic 3D experiences in a new, intuitive way. Content literally floats in front of the screen, allowing creators to examine their creations in real-time and 360 degrees—without the need for specialized glasses.

SpatialLabs Experience for Stereoscopic 3D

Acer is opening a SpatialLabs Developer Program for Unreal Engine developers interested in presenting projects with SpatialLabs. Those enrolled in the program will receive a ConceptD SpatialLabs prototype notebook, the first realization of the new experience. Interested applicants can apply here. Application closes on June 30th, 2021, after which point successful applicants will be contacted.
