The newest vaccination hub is located at theTheater Mall Cinemas 1 and 2 and was made possible with the local government's partnership with Greenhills Mall and the Music Museum Group in preparation for the vaccination of those under the A4 (economic frontliners) category.

The local government said the hub can accommodate 1,500 persons per day in addition to the 2,000 the city's main vaccination center, FilOil Flying V Centre, is able to administer per day. It added that if needed, the local government unit will open additional theaters to accommodate more vaccinees.

“We chose to partner with the Greenhills Mall not only because it has always been supporting the local government for the longest time in terms of our COVID-19 response and interventions, but also because we want to end our fight against COVID-19 right here where it started, which also happens to be our main commercial area and business district." San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said.

San Juan City was considered as the country’s ground zero in the fight against COVID-19 after the first local transmission of the virus in the country was reported in the Muslim prayer hall of the shopping mall on March 6, 2020.

“Bagamat dito nagsimula ang local transmission ng COVID-19 sa Pilipinas, dito rin ito magtatapos dahil ang San Juan City ay determinadong magtagumpay sa ating laban kontra COVID-19 (As the local transmission of COVID-19 in the Philippines started here in San Juan, it will also end here because the city is determined to win against COVID-19)," he added.

The mayor said the FilOil Flying V Center will be open to A4 residents of the city while the vaccination centers in Cinemas 1 and 2 of the Theater Mall will cater to A4 non-residents but are working in San Juan.

Zamora added that once the Inter Agency Task Force announces the start of the vaccination of people under the A4 category, they will vaccinate first the Muslim vendors in Greenhills along with the other workforce in the area and the city.

"A4 has not started yet, thus, we will be vaccinating new A1, A2, and A3 registrants first here in Greenhills. Once the IATF announces that we can start already with A4, we will vaccinate immediately our Muslim brothers and sisters who work in and do business in Greenhills along with our work force." he said.

San Juan City launched on May 28 an updated vaccine registration portal for the A4 priority category to streamline its data collection due to the high number of people included in it.

“Ginawa namin ito para hindi kami ma-confuse sa pagbibilang ng babakunahan namin because if you do not segregate the data, it will muddle our information. So gusto namin na accurate namin mabilang talaga yung within San Juan and those living from other cities but are working in San Juan (We’ve implemented this for us not to get confused in tallying the number of vaccinees because if you do not segregate the data, it will muddle our information. We really want to accurately count those living in San Juan and those living from other cities but are working in San Juan),” he added.
