Despite the downtrend of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, the Department of Health said over the weekend that it was not keen on placing GCQ areas under looser quarantine restrictions for the month of June.

"We’re not out of the woods kumbaga, kaya ayun yung sasabihin ko kapag nag pulong kami sa Lunes (that's what I'll present during our meeting on Monday)," Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said in radio interview.

"Ipapakita ko ang datos na may kataasan pa rin talaga ang mga kaso araw araw (I will present the data that the cases being reported daily are still high),” he added.

To date, the Philippines has reported 1,230,301 COVID-19 cases, 20,966 of whom died while 1,155,045 recovered.
