Man living in waiting shed in Binangonan, Rizal yearns to return to his hometown in Pampanga

A homeless man who has been living alone in a waiting shed in Binangonan, Rizal for months now and has been yearning to go back to his hometown in Pampanga may soon realize his dream, thanks to netizens.

Through the post on Facebook of the Binangonan Action Center-Volunteers Group (BACVG), a non-government organization based in Binangonan, the wish of the man, identified as Emmanuel S. Miranda, and claiming to be from Pampanga, may soon come true.

The BACVG, after posting the videos and photos of Emmanuel on its Facebook page, received information from netizens from Pampanga about the homeless man, who appears to be suffering from a mental condition.

In one of the videos, the homeless man claimed to be from Santo Niño in Pampanga.

The administrator of the BACVG’s Facebook page, told the Manila Bulletin that volunteers started giving food to Miranda on May 27 soon after learning of his condition in the waiting shed outside the University of Rizal System-Binangonan Campus in Barangay Calumpang.

The BACVG’s Facebook page administrator said the group was also able to coordinate with the barangay chairman of Santo Niño in Pampanga who positively identified Miranda as his constituent. The barangay leader also confirmed knowing the persons whom Miranda named in the video as his supposed relatives in Pampanga.

The BACVG said the group is willing to bring Emmanuel back to Pampanga provided that he will be accepted by the local government where he claims to be residing.

The office of Mayor Cesar Ynares, through Municipal Administrator, Russel Ynares, has scheduled Miranda for a medical check-up at the town's public hospital on Monday, May 31.

Aside from the donations from the members of BACVG, the local government also provided food assistance and the intervention of the social welfare office for Mirandal while his transport to Pampanga is still being arranged.
