Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez, also the chairman of the Metro Manila Council (MMC), said Metro Manila mayors have agreed to allow more businesses to open by June to restore jobs and expand more services in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Olivarez said the MMC also agreed to retain the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions in June.
In an interview with CNN, Olivarez said the mayors agreed to open up more restaurants by setting up additional chairs and tables for al fresco or outdoor dining up to 50 percent capacity.
He said the mayors are also allowing bigger operating capacity of personal care services like barbershops and nail spas.
He said the MMC still wants gyms to remain closed and to limit activities in enclosed spaces or those with poor ventilation.
The MMC also proposed that all laborers regularly reporting to their workplace should be prioritized to get vaccinated because of exposure in their daily commute.
The local executives also want to resume physical convention and face-to-face meetings in Metro Manila subject to strict guidelines and health protocols.
