The Manila city government unveiled the new bike racks inspired by “tabak” or Andres Bonifacio's sword installed at the Kartilya ng Katipunan in celebration of National Flag Day on Friday (May 28).

Bicycling has been part of the new normal since the national government has limited the public transportation in the country to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
The newly installed bike racks in the nation's capital were given by the Allianz PNB Life.
Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso expressed his gratitude to the insurance company as it would also offer a free health and insurance policy for each frontline worker.
"Napakalaking bagay po nito sa kapanatagan ng kalooban ng ating mga frontliners kasama na rin ang kanilang pamilya at mga mahal sa buhay (It's very important for the peace of mind of the frontliners along with their families and loved ones)," Domagoso said on Friday.
Domagoso described the healthcare workers as modern-day heroes for all their sacrifices and continuous effort in the fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19)
"Ang watawat ay kumakatawan din sa makabagong bayani ng ating panahon na walang kapagurang nagbubuwis ng buhay upang matapos ang paglaganap ng mapaminsalang karamdaman. Kaya itong pagbibigay pugay sa bandila ay atin ding pagbibigay pugay sa mga medical frontliners and personnel na walang pag-aalinlangan sa pagganap ng kanilang sinumpaang tungkulin (The flag also represents the modern hero of our time who tirelessly sacrificed their life to end the spread of deadly disease. We're also paying tribute to the medical frontliners and personnel not only to the flag as they continue to fulfill their sworn duty without hesitation)," he said.
