K-pop boy band NCT Dream have sold 2 million copies of their latest album “Hot Sauce,” according to their agency.
In a press release sent to Korean media on May 26, SM Entertainment said “Hot Sauce” has sold 2,040,360 copies as of May 25, reaching the milestone in just 16 days since the album was released on May 10.
NCT Dream achieved the “million seller” status in the first week of release of “Hot Sauce” and became a “double million seller” in 16 days, the agency added.
On Twitter, the hashtag #NCTDREAM_DoubleMillionSeller trended after the news spread about “Hot Sauce.”
On the other hand, based on Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “Hot Sauce” sold 1,010,766 copies from May 10 to 16 followed by 594,293 in the second week from May 17 to 23 for a total of 1,605,059 copies.
It sold 17,230 copies on May 24 and 12,765 copies on May 25 for a grand total of 1,635,054 as of May 25.
On Gaon Music Chart, “Hot Sauce” has sold 1,012,913 as of May 25 based on the retail album chart.
It garnered sales of 601,801 copies based on the weekly retail album chart from May 9 to 15 and 400,364 copies from May 16 to 22. It sold additional copies of 9,695 on May 23, 531 on May 24 and 522 on May 25.
“Hot Sauce” earlier grabbed first place on iTunes Top Albums chart in 37 countries and regions, and NCT Dream have won five times on TV music shows to date.
