Ex-cop dismissed for shabu use arrested in Malabon

Police have arrested a former policeman, who was dismissed from the service early this year after testing positive for illegal drugs, in a police operation in Malabon City.

Brig. Gen. Thomas Frias, director of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG), said Police Corporal Regie Alilano was arrested based on the arrest warrant issued by a Pasig City court for a case related to illegal drugs.

Alilano was among the two EPD policemen who were dismissed early this year after they tested positive during a random drug test for personnel of the Eastern Police District (EPD).

Frias said the operation was conducted on Tuesday at the Mc Arthur Highway corner Potrero Street in Malabon City.

Alilano s now under the custody of the PNP-IMEG and is set to be presented to the court anytime this week.
