Grammy nominee and K-pop idol group BTS set five new Guinness World Records titles with their new digital single “Butter.”

“Butter,” which was released on May 21, earlier set records as announced by YouTube and Spotify, which now have been certified by Guinness as new world records.

According to Guinness, the “Butter” music video set a new record for the “most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube with 3.9 million concurrent viewers for its premiere on 21 May 2021.”It also broke “the record for the most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube.”

The Premiere record by “Butter” eclipsed the record set by BTS’ own “Dynamite” music video, which had over 3 million peak concurrents.

In addition, “Butter” set a new Guinness record for the most viewed music video on YouTube in the first 24 hours of release with 108.2 million views and broke the record for the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group.

Guinness also said “Butter” set a new record for the most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours as the single garnered 11.04 million global streams in one day last May 21. This beat Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” by 64,946 streams.

It added that with these new feats, BTS’ total Guinness World Records titles now have reached 23 to make “them one of the most successful music groups in Guinness World Records history, alongside other chart toppers like Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Madonna and The Beatles.”
