Melomena, the Thai management team representing Mario Maurer for commercial endorsements in the Philippines, has released a statement confirming the cease and desist letter the actor's camp sent to Kakai Bautista's management.
According to Melomena, they asked Mario directly "for clarity" and to shed light on the matter.
They said the hunk star didn't mention Kakai by name but that hee expressed surprise that his name has been used in a "false narrative" made by "this person."
"He acknowledged that by nature, he is merely being accommodating and respectful at the time. But that does not mean this person should use his welcoming hospitality to invent stories beyond working with Mario," Melomena said.
They continued that despite the "nonstop trolling" that Mario is now experiencing from supporters of "this person from the Philippines," the Thai actor wishes her well and hopes that she finally stops spreading these "false fantasy stories about him being involved with her romantically" when it has always been just a "cordial work-related ties" between them.
They also confirmed that the notice written by Mario’s legal team is "legit."
"In Thai culture, we believe to always keep the peace and respect between countries. Mario will always be thankful to the Philippines for the nonstop support," they ended.
Recall that Kakai has already responded on the matter through her lawyers, Marfil & Associates.
The local law firm noted they are “deeply alarmed” and “appalled” with the demand letter, which “severely tarnishes” the reputation and image of Kakai by making her appear as a “deceitful, lying, and exploitative woman.”
They said that with the absence of a non-disclosure agreement and notwithstanding law to the contrary, Kakai is free to talk about her experience with the Thai star, which they noted is one of the effects of being a “public figure.”
“Nonetheless, our client has decided to totally dissociate herself from Mr. Maurer through all means and channels possible. In this regard, we have demanded from the alleged Attorney of Mr. Maurer’s agency to prove his identity and authority to send the Cease and Demand Letter on behalf of Mr. Maurer and the latter’s agency,” they wrote.
Meanwhile, early this month the popular weatherman and walking encyclopedia Kim Atienza castigated Mario in a recent social media post.
Prior, Kim expressed support to Kakai.
