Operatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the operation in Katarungan Village 1, a housing project of the Department of Justice built in the 1990s.

The operations were led by the Special Operation Unit 16 (National Capital Region) together with Police Regional Office 6 Regional Intelligence Division, PDEA-NCR, National Capital Region Police Office, Muntinlupa City Police Station, NCR Southern Police District and Bureau of Customs-Customs Intelligence, and Investigation Service.

An encounter resulted in the death of suspects Jordan Sabandal Abrigo and Jayvee de Guzman. Abrigo, 31, was reported missing since May 17, according to a May 20 Facebook post by DZMM Teleradyo.

The police recovered three packs containing about 10 kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P68 million, one black Nissan Cefiro without plate number, bust money, and two loaded .45 caliber pistols.

According to the PNP, Abrigo and De Guzman were members of the Divinagracia Drug Group led by Michael Divinagracia and a certain Jhonson, a Chinese national currently serving sentence at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), which is near Katarungan Village. The drug group is believed to be drug distributors in different areas of the NCR, Region 6, and other nearby provinces.

"I commend the joint effort of PNP-PDEA operatives for another laudable accomplishments as we continue to invigorate our anti illegal drugs campaign to totally wipe out all forms of illegal drugs in order to realize our quest for a drug-free nation," said PNP chief Police Gen. Guillermo Eleazar.
