San Juan City Mayor Zamora revealed on Sunday that the city government will open an additional COVID-19 vaccination site to further boost the city's vaccination efforts.

"Starting June ay magkakaroon na nang second vaccination site dito po sa Greenhills Shopping Center at yan din ay ating paghahandaan dito sa pagbubukas ng A4 category (Starting June, we will open the second vaccination site here in Greenhills Shopping Center as preparation for the opening of the A4 category)," Zamora said in an interview with Net 25.
"Alam naman natin na yung Greenhills Shopping Center, ito yung main commercial center area nang San Juan at marami sa ating mga A4 vaccinees or yung mga economic frontliners ay dito nagtatrabaho (We know that Greenhills Shopping Center is the main commercial center of San Juan and there are many economic frontliners working here)." he added.
The mayor said that since San Juan is a small city, the local government has enough vaccination sites to cover all of its residents who wish to be vaccinated.
"Ang ating FilOil Flying V Center, ang ating main vaccination area ay isang 4,000 seater indoor stadium plus itong bubuksan nga natin sa Greenhills Shopping Center which can accommodate also a few thousands, so yung dalawang site pa lang na yan para sa San Juan ay sa panahong ito ay ako'y naniniwalang sapat na, sapagkat hindi naman ganun kalakihan ang aming lungsod at yung bilang na aming hinahabol na mabakunahan upang makamit ang herd immunity ay 85,400 lamang, so yan po ay very doable basta tuloy tuloy lang ang supply nang ating bakuna na darating (I believe the FilOil Flying V Center, which is a 4,000-seater indoor stadium serving as our main vaccination area, plus the one that we will open in Greenhills Shopping Center which can accommodate also a few thousands, are already enough because the city of San Juan is not a big city and the number of people we are targeting to inoculate to achieve herd immunity is only 85,400. That is is very doable as long as the city will continuously receive vaccine supplies)." Zamora said.
The mayor was also elated with the daily rate of vaccination the city is doing.
"We are doing up to 1,800 a day at this point at unti-unti pa yang tataas sa mga darating na araw (We are doing up to 1,800 a day at this point and this will slowly increase in the coming days)," Zamora said.
"Dati ho kasi nasa 600 to 800 lamang ang ating nababakunahan dahil din sa limitadong supply ngunit ngayon ho ay madami-dami na ang dumarating na bakuna sa ating lungsod ay inakyat na natin sa 1800 (Before, we are only vaccinating 600 to 800 people a day due to the limited supply of vaccines, but now that more vaccines are arriving in the city, we increased the number of people vaccinated daily to 1,800)." he added.
