K-pop superstars BTS’ new music video “Butter” has set another record on YouTube as the most viewed music video in the first 24 hours of release.

According to YouTube, “Butter” MV garnered 108.2 million views in the first 24 hours of release on May 21 to set a new all-time record for the most watched music video debut.

With this, BTS surpassed their own record with “Dynamite,” which got 101.1 million views in the first 24 hours of debut on Aug. 21 last year. “Dynamite” occupied the No. 1 spot for nine months until “Butter” came along. BTS now occupy the top two slots on YouTube’s All-Time Top 24-Hour Music Debuts list.

This is the second record set by “Butter” on YouTube. On May 22, YouTube told Manila Bulletin that the “Butter” MV officially set a new all-time record for the biggest music video Premiere with over 3.9 million peak concurrent.

The YouTube Premiere record refers to the total number of viewers who watched the music video at the same time.

With this, BTS surpassed their own YouTube Premiere record as “Butter” eclipsed their “Dynamite” music video, which had viewers of over 3 million peak concurrent when it was released on Aug. 21 last year.
