PayMaya powers cashless payments for Philippine Red Cross

Booking and paying for a COVID-19 test get safer and more convenient as PayMaya powers the online payment gateway of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC). With this tie-up, Filipinos can use any credit, debit, and prepaid card, as well as their PayMaya account when paying for PRC services online.

To help combat the spread of COVID-19 in the country, the PRC has been stepping up on its COVID-19 test services by making it more accessible to Filipinos. By enabling advance booking and cashless payments powered by PayMaya, citizens who avail of tests through PRC are assured of lesser exposure to crowds as all they need to do is show up at the PRC collection sites on their scheduled time.

"Access to COVID-19 tests is critical in our country's fight against COVID-19. By enabling the widest cashless payment acceptance through PayMaya's online payment gateway in our booking platform, we are making it easier for citizens to avail of lifeline services," said Senator Richard J. Gordon, Chairman and CEO of the Philippine Red Cross.

"We are glad to be a steadfast partner of the PRC in its efforts to deliver critical services especially during this pandemic. Providing them with a safer and more inclusive payment acceptance service through our PayMaya Checkout online payment gateway will help ensure that they can extend their services to as many Filipinos as possible," said Shailesh Baidwan, President of PayMaya.

To avail of the PRC COVID-19 tests and other services, simply go to the Philippine Red Cross booking platform at https://book.redcross.org.ph. Select the preferred location for the swab test and set the date and time. Click on "Book Now" to add the appointment to the Shopping Cart and click Checkout to proceed. Once you review the details, choose the preferred payment method then proceed with cashless payment. An email confirmation will be sent by the PRC. Results will also be emailed once the tests have been conducted.

COVID-19 Swab Test is available at the PRC's collection sites in Mandaluyong City, Port Area in Manila, and Mandaue City in Cebu. The PRC also offers an on-site RT-PCR Saliva Test for inbound passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Users can also book an appointment for an RT-PCR Saliva Test at 153 PRC Saliva Collection Sites located in select SM, Robinsons, and Ayala Malls branches, as well as Red Cross Chapters across the country.

Aside from booking COVID-19 tests, PRC donors can also enjoy the convenience of PayMaya’s cashless solutions when donating to the organization by purchasing PRC merchandise or availing of the Philippine Red Cross membership cards. The Philippine Red Cross Membership is a form of donation that comes with an accident insurance policy intended for anyone between 5 to 85 years old. The membership entitles an individual to access all services of the Red Cross in times of emergencies, sickness, and disasters, as well as reimbursements for accidental death, disablement and dismemberment, hospitalization, and burial.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, the PRC has been at the forefront of efforts to help ease the social and economic burden to the public and private sectors. From providing cash transfer assistance, food packs, and hot meals to disseminating life-saving information, the PRC has conducted over 2.5 million COVID-19 tests to date.

PayMaya has been a strong partner of the PRC throughout the years, supporting its various donation drives during disasters and emergency response situations. In 2020, PayMaya supported fund drives for communities affected by the Taal Volcano eruption and several strong typhoons. PRC is also one of the major organizations supported by PayMaya under its #OneAgainstCOVID19 initiative. To donate directly to the PRC using any credit, debit, or prepaid card or PayMaya account from here and abroad, visit http://donate.pyamaya.com. PayMaya users can also donate to PRC via the Bills Pay feature of the PayMaya app.
