'Gusto niyo bang buong barangay ang mamatay?,' Mayor Isko asks organizers of viral Tondo street boxing

Three individuals, including a barangay kagawad, were scolded by Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso for organizing a street boxing event in Gagalangin, Tondo amid the General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

In his “The Capital Report” Friday evening, Domagoso presented the three organizers -- Barangay 182 kagawad Arnel Saens, his son Vincent Saens, and Laurence Bindoy -- and asked them to apologize to residents of Manila.
“Gusto niyo bang buong barangay ang mamatay? (Do you want the entire barangay to die?)” Domagoso asked the three.
Domagoso said he is not against any form of festive activities but reminded the three that there are regulations in place and that the country is still under a pandemic.
“Halos di na natutulog ang gobyeno ng Maynila malagay lang kayo sa ayos, sa kaligtasan, kayo naman, tingnan ninyo nagpapariwara (Officials of the local government of Manila are losing sleep just to ensure everyone’s safety, meanwhile you guys are going astray),” Domagoso said.
When Domagoso asked if they are repentant for what they did, the organizers said yes.
The three apologized for organizing the street match, which drew a large crowd, and vowed not to violate the government's safety and health protocols again.
The Manila Police District (MPD) has already filed charges against the three for violation of the guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), illegal gambling, and game-fixing.
