The movie adaptation of the Tony award-winning musical stars Ben Platt, Amy Adams, and Julianne Moore
Ben Platt comes back to high school as he again portrays Evan Hansen this time on the big screen.
The movie adaptation of the Tony and Grammy award-winning musical "Dear Evan Hansen" is led by film director Stephen Chbosky, who is famous for his works on coming-of-age films "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and "Wonder."
"Dear Evan Hansen" first opened on Broadway in December 2016. It captured the hearts of audiences with its protagonist Evan, an anxious high schooler who writes letters to himself. The character gets tangled in a web of lies after one his letters was found in the pocket of his classmate who dies by suicide.
Alongside Ben are actors Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Sternberg, Amy Adams, and Julianne Moore as cast members of the film, which is slated to premiere in September 2021.
