The local government of Rodriguez, Rizal announced Wednesday (May 19) the appointment of the town’s new health office chief.
In a post on Facebook, the Bayan ng Montalban, the official Facebook page of the local government of Rodriguez, otherwise known as Montalban, said Dr. Hazel Montolo replaced Dr. Maria Carmela Javier.
Dr. Javier announced on her Facebook page last Tuesday that she was resigning from her post instead of being transferred to another place.
She has indicated in her FB post the services that the Municipal Health Office of Montalban continues to give to the residents and indicated some information about her accomplishments as health chief officer of the town.
She addressed her message to the residents of Montalban, thanking them for the trust they gave her as the municipal health officer.
Prior to her resignation, the municipal government started the drive-thru vaccination on Tuesday.
She also mentioned in the same post that she resigned before she would be transferred to another place.
Javier said she will go back to private practice as a pediatrician.
This reporter could not reach the municipal government or the resigned municipal health officer for comment as of this writing.
Some 200 netizens posted their comments on Facebook lauding Javier for her stand.
