Cebu South Bus Terminal launches automated, cashless ticketing system

CEBU CITY – The Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT), Cebu's largest public terminal, now features an automated and cashless ticketing system.

The Cebu Provincial Government and Topline Hi-Tech Synergy Corporation on Tuesday led the ceremonial launching of the new ticketing system.

"This is one true proud shining moment for the province of Cebu," Garcia said in her speech during the ceremony.

Aside from Garcia, also present in the ceremony were CSBT manager Carmen Quijano, and directors of the Central Visayas offices of the Land Transportation Office (LTO-7) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB-7) Victor Caindec and Eduardo Montealto Jr., respectively

Topline key officials Eugene Frederik Lim (CEO), Brigitte Carmel Lim-Mueller (Vice-president for Operations), Niño Sarabosing (Operations Manager) and Ferdinand Vargas (Finance Consultant) also graced the affair.

With the new ticketing system, passengers in CSBT will no longer have to pay for their fare inside the bus.

Passengers can opt to purchase the reloadable Suroy-Suroy Sugbo card that each costs P100 or buy one-time QR-code ticket so they can access the turnstile going to the terminal bays.

"With this new automated and cashless ticketing system, non-passengers can no longer go inside. It's also a plus for our security," said Quijano.
