Antique province’s number 1 most wanted nabbed in Laguna


ILOILO CITY – More than 30 years after his involvement in the death of a cop and 11 civilians, the most wanted person of Antique province has been arrested by different units of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Sta. Rosa town, Laguna province.

The Police Regional Office (PRO-6) identified the suspect as Diosdado Estolloso Belario, a former New People’s Army (NPA) rebel who had been hiding since 1990.

The 48 year-old known by the aliases of “Ka Langgo” or “Ka David” was arrested by joint elements of the Sta. Rosa PNP, the Sebaste PNP and the Provincial Intelligence Team of Antique Police Provincial Office almost midnight of May 18.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesperson, said Belario is one of the 11 NPA rebels who staged an ambush against cops of the PNP of Sebaste town who were onboard a police vehicle last July 31, 1990. Among those killed was the police station commander and 11 civilians who were in the area.

Meanwhile, the PNP in Sta. Rosa is arranging the transfer of Belario back to Antique to face the court charges.
