Police arrested a retired US Air Force officer and his companion for growing marijuana in their condominium in Taguig Wednesday afternoon.

Joint operatives from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Taytay Municipal Police Station and Rizal Provincial Police Office supported by the Taguig City Police Station held a buy-bust operation at Royal Palm Residence Acacia Estates in Brgy. Ususan, Taguig.

The operation led to the seizure of P2.2 million worth of marijuana and kush. An informant told the police about the illegal cultivation of cannabis in the condominium, which was being used as a greenhouse for marijuana and kush.

The arrested suspects were identified as Raul Antonio Cisneros, 36, a retired US Air Force officer and Meljie Maquiling, 28.

Cisneros was previously arrested and charged by Taguig police for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for selling and possession of Ecstasy tablets in July 2019.

Operatives arrested the two after selling three pieces of plastic sachets containing dried kush and marijuana for P5,000.

Seized from the suspects were 137 pots with planted marijuana, apparatuses and the P5,000 marked money.

According to the police, the suspects have numerous connections and managed to supply several drug pushers in Makati, Taguig, other areas in the Calabarzon area and nearby regions.

NCRPO chief Police Major Gen. Vicente Danao commended the police for the buy-bust operation.
