Moments after the National Costume Competition at the 69th Miss Universe pageant, Miss Philippines Rabiya Mateo got emotional and apologized to her fans whom she felt got disappointed with her performance in the pre-pageant show.

"I'm so sorry guys kung na-disappoint kayo sa akin. But I know I did best. I even caught my finger earlier and 'yung stockings ko puno na rin siya ng dugo," said Rabiya, who made a quick live shoutout to her fans on social media on May 14. (I am sorry guys if I disappointed you. I even caught my finger and my stockings were full of blood).

"But I kept fighting kahit wala ng oras to retouch my hair, to retouch my make-up. I was running for pins, scissors just to be able to execute the costume really well. Maraming salamat guys sa lahat kanina.  But I really felt great. Feeling ko kanina habang naglalakad ako, I was so beautiful. Nakita ko yung sigawan ng mga Pilipino kaya nagpapasalamat talaga ako sa suporta ninyo," she said. (I kept fighting even I don't have time anymore to retouch my hair, retouch my make-up.I saw the Filipinos cheering for me and thank you guys for all your support).

"May malaking laban pa kaya sana ipagdasal ninyo kaming lahat na girls na ma-execute yung pinaka-best performance na kaya namin. Our goal really is to maker our country proud. Sana maging proud din kayo sa akin. It's never easy pero kinakaya ko talaga para sa inyo. Pero ang sarap ng feeling everybody kept cheering for me," Rabiya said. (We still have a big fight so please pray for all the girls that we will give our best. I hope I will make you proud. It's never easy but I am doing this for all of you. It's a wndeful feeling when people cheer for you).
