In a simple ceremony held under the shade of a tree in Solano, Cagayan, certificates of land ownership awards (CLOAs) were handed over to farmers from three villages in Solano town.

The land titles cover a total of 62.85 hectares (ha) of agricultural lands in barangays Padul, Pattaya, and Furagui.

Of the total land grant, 46.95 ha of it are located at Padul and Pattaya, while the remaining 15.90 hectares are in Furagui.

Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Melvida Camayang said they chose to distribute the land titles in a very simple ceremony because "what really matters to them is how the beneficiaries would use them to change their lives for the better."

Under the "DAR-to-Door" program, CLOAs are delivered to farmer-beneficiaries at their doorsteps or farms, which is consistent with the agency's efforts to bring government services closer to the people.
