Sa pamamagitan din nito, nabibigyan din natin ng kabuhayan ang ating urban farmers (This #GrowQC Nutritious Feeding program is just one of the city’s initiatives to inform our residents that they can get healthy vegetables in our urban farms. Through this, we also provide livelihood to our urban farmers),” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

Tutulungan kayo ng lungsod upang makapagsimula (We urge our citizens who lost their jobs due to the pandemic to try urban farming because it has many great benefits especially when it comes to food security. The city will help you get started),” she added.

The city government distributed hot meals to 1,600 residents in eight Yakap Daycare Centers in Barangay Bagong Silangan on Saturday, May 1.

The program was launched through the Food Security Task Force (QC-FSTF) and Social Services Development Department of the city.

This is just the beginning of our #GrowQC Nutritious Feeding program and we will continue it in other barangays in the city. We will also continue to support urban farms as many of our urban farmers are provided with livelihood because of it),” QC Sustainable Development Affairs Unit head Emmanuel Hugh Velasco said.

The city government, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, distributed seed starter kits to urban farmers.
