Streaking hot Onic PH clinches MPL Playoffs spot, eliminates Cignal Ultra

Red-hot Onic PH melted Gloo in its MPL Philippines Season 7 debut as it secured its spot in the Playoffs and kicked Cignal Ultra out of contention with a 2-0 sweep on Friday night, April 30.
Onic proved that there's nothing to worry about the newest tank hero in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang with a solid crushing of Cignal which picked up Gloo in both games.
The boys of coach Kyle "Ryo" Berceño and analyst Caisam "Wolf" Nopueto scored their fourth victory in a row and sixth overall against two losses to rise to No. 2 in Group A with 15 points.
Onic completed the MPL Playoffs contenders from Group A which include Work Auster Force, Aura PH and defendinf champion Bren Esports.
Coach Denver "Yebmaester" Miranda's Cignal bowed out of the Playoffs race it suffered its 10th consecutive defeat.
Cignal still has three series left to play but its maximum points of 12 will not be enough as both Aura and Bren currently have 14 points.
Yebmaester's crew actually made it difficult for Onic early in Game 1 with Jefferdson "Kekedot" Mogol's Gloo repeatedly terrorized the enemies with the Split, Split and Grab, Grab ultimate.
But Onic was able to survive Gloo until the midgame behind Gerald "Dlar" Trinchera's Esmeralda and rookie Marky "Markyyyyy" Capacio's Bane.
Jaylord "Hate" Gonzales' Granger secured his mix of offensive and defensive items while Markyyyyy dished out the magic burst in the late game to power Onic's 16-8 triumph in 18 minutes.

Cignal once again opted to draft Gloo for Kekedot in Game 2 but having seen it even once, Onic was fully prepared to counter the slimy tank.
Kari "Kairi" Rayosdelsol's Selena (5-0-7 kill-death-assist) and Markyyyyy's Chang'e (4-0-7) fueled the onslaught of Onic en route to a lopsided 18-4 victory while Jason "Jay" Torculas on his Baxia chipped in 12 assists.
