It is hoped that, with the revisions made on some protocols of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR)-Plus, there would be a better balance that could be struck between the need to curb the surge in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections, and the demand to ease economic restrictions.

A decision made by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) made late Thursday, April 29, 2021, could prove to be a huge boost to some businesses in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, which would have to endure two more weeks of MECQ.
