The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) on Friday, April 30, started to accept online registrations for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
PSA said the pilot online registration is the first step to obtain a national ID or PhilID.
Individuals can get their digital national ID by following these "three easy steps."
Step 1: Collecting demographic information and appointment-setting for Step 2 using the online registration portal.
You will be asked to provide the following information:
Name
Sex
Date of birth
Place of birth
Blood type
Address
Other "optional" information, such as marital status, cell phone number, and email address can also be provided by applicants.
After providing the required information, applicants can already set an appointment for Step 2 at the nearest registration center.
Step 2: Obtaining biometric information, such as fingerprint, iris scan, and front-facing photograph and validation of supporting documents.
This step will be held at the registration center, which the applicant selected in the Step 1 registration.
"Don't forget to bring your transaction number for this step," the PSA reminded.
The applicants are advised to present an original copy of at least one of the following:
Primary Documents:
PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth and one government-issued identification document which bears the full name, front-facing photograph, and signature or thumb mark.
DFA-issued Philippine Passport or ePassport;
GSIS or SSS-issued Unified Multi-purpose Identification Card (UMID);
Land Transportation Office (LTO)-issued Student’s License Permit or Non-Professional/Professional Driver’s License
Secondary Documents:
PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth/NSO-issued Certificate of Live Birth with Birth Reference Number (BreN)
LCRO-issued Certificate of Live Birth
PSA-issued Report of Birth
PSA-issued Certificate of Foundling
Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Identification Card
Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) ID
Seaman’s Book
Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) ID
Senior Citizen’s ID
SSS ID
Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) ID

The following identification documents shall be accepted as secondary supporting documents provided that they have a front-facing photograph, signature/Thumbmark, Full Name, Permanent Address, Date of Birth.

Step 3: Issuance of PhilSys Number (PSN) and PhilID
The PSN and PhilID will be delivered to the applicant's home by PHLPost.
PSA discouraged Filipinos from posting their PhilID personal information on social media.
