2 QC residents who attended Angel Locsin’s community pantry test positive for COVID-19

Two residents who attended actress Angel Locsin’s community pantry tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CESU) reported on Friday.

The two female patients, aged 42 and 43, are both from Barangay Holy Spirit where Locsin’s community pantry was held last April 23.

The duo were among the four individuals who availed of the city government’s free swab testing last April 28.

According to CESU chief Dr. Rolando Cruz, the 11-year-old daughter of one of the patients is currently manifesting COVID-19 symptoms and tested positive for the virus although she did not go to the community pantry.

"We will conduct immediate contact tracing to other members of their families to check if they are also infected with the virus," said Dr. Cruz.

The residents who tested positive for the virus will be brought to the city’s isolation facilities for continuous monitoring.

"We are urging those who went to last week's gathering, please contact us and have yourself tested. This way, we can be assured that your families and our communities are safe," said Cruz.

As of Thursday, April 29, the CESU has conducted 62 swab testing on residents who reported that they went to the said community pantry, and all are still awaiting for their results.
