Video streaming platform iQiyi has released a new trailer for its first original Korean drama series “My Roommate is a Gumiho.”

“My Roommate is a Gumiho” will have its global premiere on May 26 and it will star Lee Hye-ri, member of K-pop group Girl’s Day and star of the hit K-drama “Reply 1988,” and actor Jang Ki-yong, known for “The Liar and his Lover.”

Jang Ki-yong will play the role of Shin Woo-yeo, a gumiho, or a nine-tailed fox spirit who has spent the last 999 years trying to attain human form.

Lee Hye-ri will essay the role of Lee Dam, a college student who accidentally swallows his gumiho pearl without which he cannot become human. In order to know how to extract the pearl from her body, she and Jang become roommates for three months.

“My Roommate is a Gumiho” is a romantic horror comedy drama based on the Korean webtoon “Living Together”

In the trailer, Shin Woo-yeo sits across Lee Dam and they discuss how she should call him. She discovers that he is 977 years older than her, so she called him “Grand-miho” in a flash, but Jang Ki-yong did not like it.

Lee Dam then calls him “Elder,” which Shin Woo-yeo approved. He also looked into her eyes and showed his affection and kindness for her just like treating a child.

When they started living together, they had quarrels at first and later began to understand and get along well with each other.

This is the first time that Jang Ki-yong is acting as a male lead in a light-hearted comedy compared to heavy roles he played in the past.

“My Roommate is a Gumiho” will premiere exclusively on iQiyi Philippines starting on May 26.
