Authorities said the fire originated from the third floor of the establishment, which was under renovation. There were no injuries or casualties.

Toyota Global City, located at the corner of 38th St. and 11th Ave. in BGC, issued this statement:

“Today, April 29, 2021 around 10:25AM, fire broke out in Toyota Global City. We now wish to inform you that the unfortunate fire incident has been put under control.

It added, “We sincerely thank the fire department of Taguig City and nearby areas for their prompt response and assistance.”

Because of the fire, it said, the branch will be closed tomorrow for assessment.

“All our team members and clients who are present there are safe. However, we may not be able to serve your needs promptly tomorrow, April 30, 2021, as we need to close the dealership to ensure all safety measures are put in place before reopening. Thank you for your concern and support!” said Toyota Global City.

Toyota Global City restarted its operations last April 12 after the government placed the National Capital Region Plus areas under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
