The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is scheduled to host three more webinars on food safety in the country's five regions, including the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The DOST said in partnership with the 3M Philippines-Food Safety Department, the DOST Regions IX, X, XI, Caraga, and BARMM will continue holding webinar series on food safety in May and June.
"With the theme, “A journey to food safety from farm to fork”, the webinars aim to provide the participants valuable insights to help their businesses improve their respective food safety program,” read the statement issued by the DOST’s Science and Technology Information Institute.
The first leg of the webinar series was held on April 16, zeroing in on the understanding food quality and food safety. The first webinar drew 192 participants from the different parts of Mindanao, as well as from Visayas and Luzon areas.
On May 3, the webinar will focus on the importance of microbial food testing.
The third leg of the webinar on May 17 will zero in on the food safety in the time of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
On June 7, the fourth part of the webinar series will tackle environmental monitoring program as a food safety strategy.
Angel “Jun” Barnes, Jr. of 3M Philippines Food Safety serves as the speaker of the webinar series. He has more than 13 years of experience in the food safety business.
