Smart Omega is poised to rule the League of Legends: Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series 2021-Summer Season Philippines South Luzon group stage after going undefeated in the first round over the weekend.

Having found their fiery form way back early in the preseason, Omega standouts Ronel "Stronger" Tan (support), John Lloyd "Impressive" Dela Cruz (midlaner), Gerald "Taymlaps" Bermundo (ADC), Maynard "Arise" Limon (jungler) and Jaiby "JLC" Paglingayen (baron laner) swept all their five series and only dropped a single game in the four-team, triple round robin regional group.

Winners of the Wild Rift Asia Brawl 2021, Stronger and his crew crushed Execration, 2-0, before capping their seamless first round run with a 2-0 decimation of Preseason runner-up Sunsparks on Sunday night, April 25.

Omega doused Liyab Esports, 2-0, last Saturday and beat Sunsparks, 2-1, as well Execration, 2-0, for a rousing start last Friday.

The Smart-backed squad has already earned P250,000 via Globe Cup points and moved closer to the playoffs of the Summer Split tourney.

Liyab took down Sunsparks twice (2-0 on Friday and 2-1 on Sunday) and Execration (2-1 on Saturday) for the No. 2 spot with a 3-1 record.

For its lone win, Execration pulled off on Saturday a 2-0 sweep against Sunsparks, which surprisingly went winless in five matches.

The closing round of the South Luzon group stage will take place on April 30 to May 2.

Only the top two teams will advance to the playoffs and compete against fellow regional winners for the Summer Super Cup.

North Luzon champion Team Secret PH and runner-up Nexplay Esports have already booked their spots in the playoffs while the Visayas and Mindanao legs are slated next month.
