Pasay City to comply with IATF decision on next quarantine status

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said they will comply with whatever decision the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) will make regarding the Metro Manila quarantine status in May.

The National Capital Region and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal are currently under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) which will end on Friday, April 30.

Rubiano said the IATF is set to make a decision on whether to extend the MECQ or downgrade to the General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

“Handa po kaming sumunod pero ang importante po ay ang ating mga kababayan ay dapat mag-triple ingat pa rin at gawin ang standard health protocols anuman ang quarantine status,” (We are ready to follow but it is important that everybody must be cautious in observing the standard health protocols), Rubiano said.

She said the Metro Manila Mayors (MMC) will meet this afternoon to give their recommendation to the IATF on the quarantine classification for May.

The mayor said the MMC will come up with a consensus on the quarantine status that will be recommended to the IATF.
