DSWD, LGUs provide more than P3.5-M relief aid to 'Bising'-affected families
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the local government units (LGus) have provided more than P3.5-million worth of relief assistance to the families affected by the onslaught of Typhoon “Bising” in the country’s four regions.

The DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) reported that as of 6 p.m., April 25, more than P3.55-million aid has been extended to the affected families in Cagayan Valley, Bicol, Eastern Visayas and Caraga.
The DROMIC said the number of affected families increased to 99,914 or 408,095 persons in 1,159 barangays from the four affected regions.
The report also showed that all the 24,519 families or 93,827 persons who chose to stay with their relatives and/or friends have already returned home.
The DSWD reported over the weekend that all the 14,951 families or 58,431 persons who took temporary shelter in 737 evacuation centers have returned home.

Meanwhile, the DSWD reported that the number of damaged houses increased to almost 3,000.
The DROMIC report showed that there were 2,969 damaged houses, 145 of which were totally damaged and 2,824 were partially damaged.
