Paranaque City has started offering home vaccination service against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) for bedridden residents.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez on Sunday, April 25 said that 16 people have been vaccinated in their homes in barangays Sun Valley, BF, and San Isidro this weekend.
Olivarez said that the Department of Health (DOH) permitted them to conduct house-to-house vaccination for COVID-19 but only for those who are not able to visit vaccination centers such as seniors and bedridden patients.
He added that those who want to request for free vaccination at home for bedridden individuals may call their respective barangay health centers or may register to paranaquevip.ph/registration.
“Online registration is needed for residents looking to get inoculated. Those who do not fit the criteria are advised to visit the vaccination center,” Olivarez said.
Olivarez added they conduct house-to-house vaccination for COVID-19 every weekend and is open to all registered seniors citizens and bedridden patients.
The mayor earlier said they need to vaccinate 70 percent of its 725,000 residents which is equivalent to half a million people to achieve herd immunity.
With an adequate vaccine supply, based on their simulation, Olivarez mentioned that they can vaccinate up to 7,000 a day which is equal to 210,000 a month.
